FUDENG’s flatbed trailer is the most popular trailer because it is strong and durable and is loved by our African customers. Today I will introduce to you several methods of sea transportation of flatbed trailer. Take the 3 axles 40ft Flatbed trailer as an example. This flatbed trailer is equipped with 12 container locks, which can transport two 20ft containers and one 40ft container, and is also equipped with a rope tightener to transport bulk cargo. Today we take this 3 axles 40ft flatbed trailer as an example.
1. Container Transportation:
(1) Use 45ft container for transportation
Using 45ft container transportation, the flatbed trailer can be placed directly into the container, and up to two Flatbed trailers can be placed. But before loading into the container, some processing needs to be done: First, remove the tires of the Flatbed trailer. If it is a trailer with side wall and front wall, it also needs to be removed. Then use a crane and trailer to put the Flatbed trailer vertically into the container. The two Flatbed trailers are packed into the container as shown in the picture below. The removed tires and other accessories can also be put into the container.
(2) Use 40ft containers for transportation
For transportation using 40ft containers, the flatbed trailer needs to be docked.
In order to meet the requirements of loading 40ft containers, we have a special design for the flatbed trailer, which we call tail docking. Because a 40ft container is cheaper than a 45ft container, if the customer requests it, we will design the trailer with a docked tail. Please see the picture below. After removing the second half, the length can fit into a 40ft container. The dismantled part is put into the gap of the container, which has the advantage of saving freight, but the customer needs to install it by himself after receiving the trailer.
2. Bulk Cargo Transportation:
Bulk cargo transportation: directly exposed on the deck of the ship, but during the transportation process, humid environment and irregular weather, water may corrode the trailer, causing the critical parts to be affected. Although we are already producing Anti-rust paint treatment has been done at that time, but for the sake of safety, it should not affect the customer’s use. Therefore, we will spray wax on the entire trailer, including various key components, including the main beam and suspension, to prevent rust.
